Oops

Saturday's entry didn't post so the two preceding posts are not in order. I'll check for successful publishing from now on. I'm still a rookie at this blog stuff. Be patient with me.

And off we go...

We picked up the truck this morning and in less than two hours were hooked up and headed south. L'Acadie Inn - hotboudin.com - is first on the itinerary. Can't wait to join our friends there. 

Stop #1 - L'Acadie Inn

After several trials and tribulations, we finally departed and spent the weekend with our LIARS friends in Eunice, LA. Last night was the street dance in downtown Eunice and today we sampled the best Crawfish Etoufee  at the World Championship Etoufee Cookpff.  Tonight was card night in the lobby of L'Acadie Inn where you "enter as guests, but leave as friends.". As always Lance and Kelly have been exceptional hosts.  These trips down south to visit L'Acadie Inn have been some of our most cherished over the past several years. But alas tomorrow we will start our journey west.   We'll travel just a couple hours...until we find a pretty place to stop and make some new memories. 

Waiting Game...

We are still waiting on the truck to get out of the shop. The back ordered part is in so we're just waiting for it to be put on.  So frustrating. But at this point in our lives we have plenty of time so I'm just trying to roll with it.  Hope to get on the road tomorrow - Saturday at the latest. 

Itinerary Check

As I check our itinerary, I keep finding more and more "things" that need to be included.  I know that we can't do everything on this trip - you'd think three months would be long enough - but I keep seeing great little eclectic towns that we just have to hit on our scooter rides.  Of course, we're still dependent on getting the truck back - it's still in the shop.  But once we do, we are hitting the road!

Truck woes...

We've had the truck in the shop multiple times to repair a recurring exhaust leak - something that definitely needs to be fixed prior to our adventure.  We thought it was solved last week, but alas, that was not the case.  We're currently waiting on Chrysler and Landers Dodge/Ram/Jeep to negotiate the cost of the repair.  Ironically the problem appears to be exactly what David told Landers it was about 30,000 miles ago.  Still hoping for a March 27 launch date...

Preparing for an adventure

So we tested out the camper repairs at Bodcau a couple weeks ago and now we're ready for the "Go West" adventure.
